He always gets tortured because of his own miserable self. Just the simplicity of Squidward's in need to get beaten up. There's like a OG love for that.īill Fagerbakke: Uh-huh. Jill Talley: I don't think it's missing it as much as it's like it's the OG. I always kind of get kind of tingly when we go back to just a straight up SpongeBob. I'm not going to say the Patrick Show, but I got to tell you, with all the different things we've been doing, I miss just SpongeBob and Bikini Bottom a little bit. I would probably pick Plankton.īill, are there any of the universes that you guys had in Tidal Zone that you'd like to explore more of?īill Fagerbakke: The Patrick Show was so much fun. I mean, yeah, I think it would be really funny to have Plankton be big for a change and see what that did for him. Jill Talley: Ooh, I want to swap bodies with Plankton. What other characters would you like to see swap bodies? Jill, Patrick and Karen swap bodies during one of the episodes. You'll quickly be pulled out of it whether you want to or not. It would be hard to show up to record and be in a bad mood. I mean, no one is more enthusiastic about it than Tom. What did Tom's directing style add to Tidal Zone?ĭana Snyder: Energy, baby, or as Jill refers to it, the Kenergy. I feel like they were a tribute of themselves.ĭana, Tom also was the voice director for this as well. But the Blues Brothers were being played by the Blues Brothers. But it's like, it's just all on its side. I mean, you have these incredible characters and to be able to see them in this different form, but you still recognize what you love about them. Bill Fagerbakke is an American actor and voice actor who is known for giving voice to the character Patrick Star on the famous Nickelodeon animated series. And I bet it's really fun for the animators because it's sure fun for us to see.ĭana Snyder: I'm going to say I should have answered first because I have the same answer as everybody else. It's always fun to see a character that you're so familiar with drawn, or presented, differently. Jill Talley: It is fun and it's fun to see. It's fun to see SpongeBob being an efficient robot version of himself when I saw him. And it's kind of fun to see the other characters as robots. I played Karen on SpongeBob, and she's a computer but kind of a robot too with her legs and her little stand and her wheels and everything. Jill Talley: I was going to say the same answer, not because I'm a copycat, but because it's nice to see. It's really packed with, I think, an attribute to the enormous creativity of our writers and storyboard artists. It tickled me because it was the creative work that went into the look of the characters, and how they interacted, and how everyone's homes, and the Krusty Krab was this mechanical device, and all this stuff. I really enjoy, oddly enough, I loved it when they were all robots. It frames it up nicely, and I think resonates to anyone who's had the good fortune to watch that series. Bill Fagerbakke: Well, I loved the framework, as you mentioned, with the Twilight Zone of having this live action character with the diving helmet and all that stuff.
